I’ve witnessed more “I dos” than I can count, and if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this: eloping is about centring your love story. It’s about letting go of the pressure and the fanfare, and choosing a day that reflects what really matters: your love, your connection, and your story. Elopements are for rebels, dreamers, adventurers, and anyone bold enough to create a day that's 100% them.
But let’s keep it real, “Let’s just elope!” still comes with questions and planning logistics. And while the fantasy of running off into the sunset sounds romantic, the reality is that your perfect day takes a little finesse. That’s where I come in.

Can We Invite Guests to Our Elopement?
That is totally up to you! Whether it’s just the two of you or a crew of your most favourite humans, we’re here for it. At Sea to Sky Elopements, we can generally support up to 20 guests.

How Do We Choose Our Elopement Spot?

How Do We Legally Elope in BC?
It’s easier than you think! Here’s what you need:
Marriage License — we’ll walk you through it
Officiant — included in your Sea to Sky package!
Two witnesses — your vendor team can help here, too!
Post-ceremony paperwork — we handle it all!
Do We Need an Officiant?
If you want it to be legally binding? Yes.
But if you want a symbolic ceremony with all the feels (but no paperwork)? That’s valid too.
You have options:
Get legally married on the day
Handle the legal stuff before/after

What if I Already Paid a Deposit to a Vendor?
Absolutely! We’ll help you make the switch seamlessly. A lot of couples start planning a big wedding, then realize eloping is more their speed. We’re here for the pivot.
Do I Have to Use Every Vendor in the Package?
Nope! Your day, your way. Our team of experts are here to make things easier. However, if you want to skip hair & makeup or bring in your own florist, we’ll adjust your package pricing accordingly. No problem!
What If a Guest Cancels a Helicopter Spot?
With 72 hours' notice, you get a refund for that seat. Simple as that!

What If I Get Sick on the Day of My Elopement?
We’re sending good vibes that you won’t! But if it happens, we’ll work with you as best we can. Reschedules for illness aren’t guaranteed, but we’ll do everything possible to help.
Do We Need Witnesses When Eloping?
Yes, if it’s a legal ceremony in BC. But if you're eloping solo, no sweat! Our team can step in. Even kids can witness as long as they understand what they're signing!
Is Full Payment Due Right Away?
Payment is due within two business days of signing your contract, and we offer flexible payment options to make the process as easy as possible.
Can We Self-Solemnize?
Self-Solemnizing is when you and your partner basically marry each other with no officiant and no witnesses! Pretty cool, right? Unfortunately, self-solemnizing isn't a thing in BC. Bummer, I know. But don't despair! Your ceremony can still be incredibly personal and intimate.
Heads up: Plenty of US states do allow self-solemnizing, and we're always up for a road trip! Colorado, for example, is particularly awesome for this, and your dogs can be witnesses! (Yes, really!)

What Does a Typical Elopement Ceremony Look Like?
