Best Spots to Elope in Vancouver!
Thinking about eloping in Vancouver? Amazing choice! This city is packed with jaw-dropping scenery, from ocean views to lush forests, towering mountains, and city skylines. As a local elopement planner, I know all the best hidden gems and iconic spots for an unforgettable, intimate ceremony.
Best Time to Elope in Vancouver
While you can elope anytime, I always recommend weekdays to avoid crowds. The best months? My personal favourites are late June (before school’s out) and early September (after the kids are back). The weather is still gorgeous, but you skip the summer rush and the too-hot or too-cold extremes.
Now, here's what you really came for. My top picks for best locations:
1. Lighthouse Park
If you want city skylines, ocean backdrops, and rugged rocky shores, Lighthouse Park is the spot. It’s home to an old-growth coastal forest, a national historic lighthouse, and some of the best sunset views around. It’s an easy walk/hike in and offers plenty of space for a quiet, romantic elopement.

2. Golden Ears Provincial Park
Golden Ears Provincial Park is iconic! Specifically, North Beach at Alouette Lake is a dream for couples who want mountain views, serene waters, and a little more seclusion than the busy southern beaches. You can wade into the lake, take a boat out, or just soak in the stunning scenery. It’s a photographer’s paradise and a top pick for adventurous elopements!

3. Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge
Want that classic “deep in the rainforest” aesthetic without driving hours into the wilderness? Lynn Canyon Park is perfect. Towering trees, lush greenery, and a suspension bridge swaying 50 meters above the canyon will make your elopement look straight out of a fairytale. Plus, it’s super accessible for guests!

4. Whytecliff Park
Great for wildlife sightings! Home to over 200 marine species (including sunbathing sea lions), Whytecliff Park is an incredible mix of rocky cliffs, ocean views, and peaceful beaches. If you want an intimate ceremony with an adventurous feel, this West Vancouver gem is perfect.

5. Redwood Park
If you’re international, this is probably what you picture when you think of BC! These are the tall trees BC is known for at Redwood Park! This forest was planted by twin brothers in the 1800s, and now it’s a hidden oasis filled with towering trees from around the world. It’s peaceful, unique, and feels like stepping into a storybook. There’s even a whimsical treehouse replica in the park!

6. Pacific Spirit Park
Surrounding the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus, this massive park offers secluded nature trails, lush greenery, and even beach access. Pacific Spirit Regional Park is a beautiful, accessible way to connect with nature. If you want total privacy for your vows, you can even reserve a designated nature space for an additional fee!

7. Barnet Marine Park
With ocean, mountains, forests, train tracks, and even an overpass, this spot is perfect for unique pictures! Barnet Marine Park is the perfect spot for an intimate ceremony. It's a photographer's dream, a favourite for elopements and weddings, and it comes with its own natural arches that lead into the water as the tide ebbs and flows!

8. Buntzen Lake
A BC Hydro reservoir that doubles as a stunning elopement spot! With picnic tables, covered gazebos (perfect for rainy day weddings), and scenic trails, Buntzen Lake is as practical as it is beautiful. The water is calm, the mountains are breathtaking, and it’s a fantastic spot for a relaxed, nature-filled ceremony.

9. Inter River Park
Definitely not as well known and worth checking out! Less crowded than other North Shore parks, Inter River Park is a true hidden gem. It offers great trails, an off-leash dog area, and easy access to Lynn Canyon. This is your spot if you’re bringing your dog(s) along!
10. Pitt Lake
Probably every single Vancouver photographer has shot here! It’s a very popular place, and for good reason! Don’t let this deter you, though, because there’s plenty of space for everyone :)
One of the largest lakes in Metro Vancouver, Pitt Lake is a secluded and scenic spot surrounded by mountains. It’s an ideal Plan B for helicopter elopements as it is close and gorgeous. A great location for couples who want a truly wild and remote setting without journeying so far.

What You Need to Know Before Eloping Outdoors
Eloping in nature is magical, and it does require some logistical planning. Here’s what you need to keep in mind:
Some locations require a permit (I’ll handle this for you!)
Weekday elopements = fewer crowds & better photos
Drones are banned in many parks. Check ahead if you’re looking for aerial shots.
Respect nature: stay on trails & leave no trace
Weather can change fast, so always have a backup plan! Even in the summer
Planning a wedding, even a micro one, comes with many moving parts. That’s where I come in! As your local elopement planner at Sea to Sky Elopements, I handle everything: permits, logistics, locations, and vendors. This way, you can focus on your love and the adventure ahead.
Ready to plan your dream elopement? I can hardly wait to hear from you!
