Cost is one of the first questions couples ask, and it's one of the harder ones to answer honestly — because "Squamish elopement" can mean anything from two people and a photographer on a hiking trail to a full-day, multi-vendor, helicopter-accessed experience with florals and a private dinner.
What I can do is break down the main cost categories, give you realistic ranges for each, and help you understand where the biggest variables are. That way you can build a budget that actually reflects what you want — rather than getting halfway through planning and discovering the gap.

Planning and coordination
A planner-led elopement package in BC typically ranges from $2,500 to $6,000+ depending on the scope of services, whether day-of coordination is included, and how complex the logistics are. This covers location curation, vendor sourcing and coordination, timeline development, permit management, and on-site presence on the day.
Photography-led or Officiant-led packages tend to sit lower on this range, but the trade-off is what the previous section covers: a photographer or an officiant is not a planner. The two roles require different skills and different bandwidth on the day.

Photography
Elopement photography in the Sea to Sky typically ranges from $2,500 to $5,000+ for a half to full day. The variance comes from experience level, whether travel is included, how many hours are covered, and whether engagement sessions or additional services are part of the package.
For Squamish specifically, you want a photographer who knows the region — someone who has shot in the conditions, at different seasons and times of day, and who knows which locations produce what kind of light. That local knowledge shows in the images.
Officiant
A licensed officiant in BC typically charges between $350 and $700 for elopement ceremonies, depending on ceremony length, customisation, and travel requirements. Some all-inclusive packages include officiant services; others treat it as a separate booking.

Hair and makeup
For on-location hair and makeup in the Squamish area, budget $400 to $800 per person for a single application, depending on the artist and the complexity of the look. Artists who travel to your getting-ready location (rather than requiring you to come to a studio) typically charge a travel fee on top of the service rate.
If you're getting ready in Squamish and your artist is coming from Vancouver or Whistler, confirm travel fees and timing well in advance — this is one of the places timelines fall apart when it's not planned carefully.

Florals
Elopement florals — typically a bridal bouquet, boutonniere, and occasionally a small installation — range from $300 to $900 depending on the floral designer, the size of the bouquet, and the complexity of what's included. For remote or helicopter locations, you'll want to confirm your florist is comfortable with the logistics of delivery.

Helicopter (if applicable)
A helicopter charter for an elopement in the Squamish area typically starts around $1,500 to $3,000 for 2-4 people for a short flight and landing, and scales up depending on flight time, remoteness of the location, number of people and how long you're on the ground. Permits
Permit costs in BC are generally modest — provincial park ceremony permits run approximately $75 to $200 depending on the park and the specifics if there is no decor involved, and up to $600 if we are bringing in decor. Dinner or experiences after
Many couples build a celebratory dinner or experience into their elopement day. Squamish has excellent dining options, and the Sea to Sky corridor has some beautiful private dining and accommodation experiences worth knowing about. Budget this separately from your ceremony vendors — it can range from $150 for a restaurant dinner for two to $500+ for something more curated, and then moving into a minimum spend for groups 10+ generally starting at around $1,800.
Realistic total ranges
A simple Squamish elopement — photographer, officiant, small florals, no planner — can come in around $4,000 to $6,000 depending on vendor choices.
A full-service, planner-led elopement with photography, hair and makeup, florals, officiant, and a private dinner typically runs $10,000 to $18,000.
A helicopter elopement with full vendor support adds $2,000 to $4,000 on top of either range.
These are honest ranges based on current BC market rates. Couples who spend time comparison shopping on cost alone often find they've underspent on planning and overspent on things that don't affect the experience — which is a frustrating way to arrive at the day.
Where the money actually matters
The vendors whose quality most directly affects your experience of the day — not just the images, but the feeling of it — are your planner and your photographer. These are the people whose judgment you're relying on from months out through the last moment of the ceremony. Getting those right is worth prioritizing in the budget.
Florals are beautiful and worth having. They're also the place where a budget cut has the least impact on the actual experience of the day.
