On June 20th, 2025, Amber and Kingsley hosted a deeply personal, wildflower-filled summer solstice elopement at Sage and Solace Farm in South Langley, BC. This intimate, family-centred celebration included a willow tree ceremony, custom vows, and dinner under twinkle lights, planned entirely with our team at Sea to Sky Elopements.

Why They Eloped on the Summer Solstice

There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding on the summer solstice. The light lingers just a little longer, the air feels warmer, and time seems to stretch in the best possible way. This was my second solstice elopement, and let me just say: I think I’ve started a trend!

Amber and Kingsley’s June 20th celebration was one of those elopements that left me smiling for days afterward.

They came to me at the end of 2024 with a clear vision: a relaxed, romantic elopement in the great outdoors with good music, delicious food, and the people they love most. It was a second wedding for both Amber and Kingsley, so they wanted it to feel intentional, intimate, and deeply personal.

If that sounds like your dream day, too, you’ll love our Earth elopement package — designed for couples who want to celebrate simply, beautifully, and in harmony with nature.

How We Found the Perfect Venue in Langley, BC

Amber had a whole Pinterest vision board of rolling hills, golden hour light, and a peaceful forest vibe. After bouncing around a few location ideas, we landed on Redwood Park…until a surprise reforestation project completely changed the look of the field they loved. Womp womp.

We pivoted (as we often do! I’m a Queen of Plan B’s… you have to be in this business!) and briefly considered a ceremony at their home. But when we discovered Sage and Solace Farm in South Langley, everything clicked into place. It. Was. Perfect.

This dreamy property has it all: wide open fields, a peaceful pond with a giant willow tree, rustic buildings with artist studios, a flower-filled garden popping with colour, and a stunning outdoor dining area strung with twinkle lights and lined with grapevines. Truly, it felt like we’d been dropped in the Italian countryside. And to top it off? There were chickens, geese, and baby animals wandering the farm like they were part of the guest list. It was heaven on earth!

The dinner space has this giant greenery arch and Edison bulb string lights strung above. It's honestly such a gorgeous spot, and I can't wait to go back there! Should we do our next pop-up elopements there? Wink wink!

We Buried a Weiner (Again)

Rain was looming in the forecast, and if you’ve followed along on my most recent elopements, you know what that means… time to bury a weiner!

Well, this time, it was a smokie. Kingsley went out in the yard the night before, shovel in hand, doing his part for wedding-day sunshine with a top-quality smokie (spare no expense).

And guess what? It worked! There were a few sprinkles early on, but otherwise the weather held. Thanks to the wisdom of H, who buried a pepperoni stick for her own wedding, we managed to keep the downpour at bay!! The superstition lives on, as we are officially 2 for 2!

The Wedding Day Unfolds in Langley

The morning was cozy and calm. Hair and makeup arrived on site, and I picked up the florals from our friend, Angelique, at Florista, who completely nailed Amber’s vision: soft white, cream, pale yellow, and green in a wildflower-inspired style. We added a bouquet for Amber’s best friend and four boutonnieres for their sons. The floral arrangements were a dream: organic, romantic, and a little wild in the best way.

While Amber was getting ready, I was out setting up with a close family friend of Amber and Kingsley’s, who helped us bring the entire vision to life.

At the willow tree by the pond, we created a cozy semicircle of chairs for the ceremony and added cocktail tables for a champagne toast. The dinner area was one of my favourite setups ever; wildflowers from the farm (thank you, Barb!), soft candlelight, and hand-painted place cards created by Amber’s mom, tucked into each guest’s napkin. On the back of those cards? Personal letters from the bride and groom to every. single. guest. (Cue the happy tears.)

The cake? Made by Amber’s mom. It was a naked cake topped with fresh-cut blooms from the garden. Simple, stunning, and so full of heart.

Ceremony Highlights Under the Willow Tree

Amber did a sweet first look with her dad, followed by an adorable first look with her sons, who sprinted down the hill excited to see her in her dress. It was the cutest thing ever.

When it was time to walk down the aisle, Amber’s sons walked her in. Then, in one of the most touching ceremony moments I’ve ever seen, each of their boys “gave her away” by taking turns standing up and saying, “I do.” A little off script, and melted hearts!!

The ceremony was sweet, heartfelt, and deeply emotional. Amber and Kingsley wrote personal vows that had everyone teary-eyed and grinning at the same time. After they kissed, we popped the bubbly and celebrated with their families.

And guess who signed the marriage license? Their sons!

Pro tip: In BC, you don’t have to be 18 to sign the marriage license, so if you have kids, this is such a fun and meaningful way to include them.

Personal Details That Made it THEIRS

This wedding was full of thoughtfulness, right down to the smallest details.

  • Amber’s son had custom socks made with their dog’s face on them.

  • Amber embroidered their initials into a custom pocket square and gifted it to Kingsley on the big day.

  • Their wedding bands were engraved with “A + K 06.20.2025.”

Kinglsey even created a photo album that told the story of their 3.5 years together, and gifted it to Amber that morning. I mean, come on. These two don’t mess around when it comes to loving each other well.

And then there was the music. Larry Edward, a live guitarist, played for the ceremony and throughout dinner. His soundtrack gave the whole evening a relaxed, romantic energy that couldn’t have been more fitting.

The Rest of the Evening? Pure Joy.

After champagne and family photos, we invited Amber and Kingsley to see the dinner setup for the first time. The look on their faces when they saw it all come together was priceless. They were so touched, and honestly, so was I.

Dinner was made entirely by a close friend of theirs (what a gift!), and it was delicious. A + K made their entrance with umbrellas to cheers and sat down for a meal under the twinkle lights, surrounded by love and laughter.

Later, the couple shared a beautiful first dance at the head of the table. Amber shared a first dance with each of her boys, too. Cue all the feels! Then came cake, donuts, and a candy bar.

Before the night ended, we snuck them away for a few more golden hour portraits, then sent them back to their party to dance the night away. Stacey from Mad Magic Co. captured every moment so beautifully. On the way home, we couldn’t stop talking about how special the day had been and all the beautiful photos she captured.

A New Chapter, So Full of Love

Amber and Kingsley’s elopement was intimate, joyful, and bursting with personal meaning. It was a reminder that you don’t need hundreds of guests or a huge venue to have a wedding that leaves a lasting impression. You just need your people, your story, and a place that reflects the love you share …And maybe a smokie buried in the ground for good luck.
