H + T’s Elopement at Bluevault: A Day of Love, Laughter, and Perfect Weather (Thanks to a Buried Pepperoni Stick)

You know those weddings where everything just clicks? …Not because it was rigidly planned down to the minute, but because everyone was genuinely present, relaxed, and soaking in every moment. That was exactly the vibe for H + T’s wedding.
They wanted a day that was chill, full of good music, delicious food, drinks, and time to actually hang out with the people they love. No timelines or stress. Just real connection. So when they booked one of our Bluevault Pop-Up Elopements, it was such a perfect fit.

The Magic of… a Buried Pepperoni Stick?
Let’s start here, because you’re probably wondering why I mentioned a pepperoni stick at the beginning of this blog, haha! H and her best friend had seen a TikTok that said if you bury a wiener the night before your wedding, you’ll get good weather. Well, Saturday had been very rainy, and they didn’t have a hot dog, so they buried a pepperoni stick in the yard. They even said a little chant over it.
And you know what? IT WORKED. The weather for their wedding was gorgeous. Coincidence? Maybe. But I’m team #PepperoniStickMagic now.

A Relaxed Morning and Some Stylish Arrivals
H arrived first with her best friend, sister, and mom, bringing snacks, gin and tonics, and the most laid-back energy. While Hanna worked her magic with hair and makeup, the rest of the crew set up their little charcuterie spread in the kitchen. It felt more like a cozy hangout than a wedding morning, which is exactly what H wanted.
Meanwhile, T was out biking around Pemberton (their hotel offered complimentary bikes!) and showed up later with their dog, Terry, who quickly became the real star of the day.
T looked seriously sharp in a brown suit with black and gold buttons and a super trendy gold watch. And Stacy, our photographer, arrived right on time to start capturing all the dreamy details I had set aside: flowers, rings, vow books, lace, and of course, the dress.
Speaking of details, T + H’s rings were amazing. They looked like twisted gold branches; earthy, previous, unique, and totally them.

A Sweet First Look (and Photo Session Goals)
Once H’s veil was in place, we headed outside for their first look. It took place in the field behind the house, and they were just so adorable. You could feel how connected and comfortable they are with each other.
T had warned us he was super awkward in front of the camera and would need a lot of guidance, but honestly? You’d never know. The photos from their session are amazing: playful, romantic, cinematic. Running through the fields, twirling, kissing, and that grand staircase moment? Chef’s kiss.
This is your reminder: feeling awkward doesn’t mean you have to look awkward. That’s why we work with photographers who know exactly how to guide you into the magic.

The Ceremony Beneath the Willow Tree
After a quick pit stop inside for a duct tape shoe repair (shoutout to T’s best friend’s heel for adding some spice to the timeline), we headed out to the ceremony site. I had picked up 15 white folding chairs earlier that day and arranged them in a semicircle under the willow tree.
Pro Tip: If you have an odd number of chairs, arranging them in a curve helps visually balance things better than traditional rows.
The guests were seated, and our officiant, Jude, kicked things off by having the crowd yell, “LET THE WEDDING BEGIN!” It was so fun and high-energy. T walked down the aisle with his mom, followed by H with both her parents. Their personal vows had everyone laughing and tearing up (though there were definitely a few allergy sniffles mixed in there, too).
It was sweet and emotional and real… everything a ceremony should be.

Pizza, Toasts, and Good Vibes Only
After the “I do’s,” H had a little cuddle with their pup Terry, and then… pizza arrived! Now, you don’t normally get delivery this far out of town, but Backcountry Pizza made an exception just for us. (Legends!)
We quickly got some family photos before the light faded, and then everyone headed inside for a cozy evening of pizza, music, toasts, and laughter. It was simple, joyful, and honestly just perfect.
At the end of the night, I helped them pack up their things, and you could just see it on their faces: they were glowing. It was everything they had hoped for.

When Plans Change, Beautiful Things Can Happen
Originally, H + T had planned to have a bigger wedding. In the aftermath of losing their venue, they found our Bluevault Pop-Up Elopement and booked right away. Sometimes, the plan falling apart is exactly what leads you to the right thing.
This day felt meant to be. And while I say it every time, I truly mean it: this wedding was my favourite. Every couple we work with brings something so unique, and I’m endlessly grateful to help create these memories.
Thinking of eloping your own way?
Let’s ditch the pressure and craft something that feels true to you. Whether it’s a buried pepperoni stick, your dog in the front row, or a post-ceremony pizza party, we’ll make it happen.
